Jessica Alba (photo) co-founded the Honest Company in 2011 with Sean Kane, Brian Lee, and Christopher Gavin. Reportedly, a beautiful actress and her partners could sell the company to Unilever for $1 billion. The Honest Co. is based in Los Angles, and their products can be purchased online, at Target, Whole Foods and other major stores in the country.
The 35-year-old actress made a fortune by selling baby lotions, cleaning products, soaps, and diapers that are free of any harsh chemicals. Over the years, the company has grown rapidly and last year Honest Beauty started to sell lip gloss, mascara, and blush.
Unilever, a company which makes Dove soap and Axe body spray, is interested in buying the company for more than $1 billion, but less than $1.7 billion which is an estimated value of the company in 2015.
The Honest Company has survived few lawsuits and many controversies, including a lab test from the Wall Street Journal and negative feedback from social media. Currently, the company is facing a class lawsuit from customers who claims the Honest Co.’s sunscreen failed to protect their skin, causing sunburn. Jessica Alba defended her company by saying: “We stand by our ingredients, the effectiveness of the products, and we're pretty optimistic that we're going to win every case.”
